About Mogilev-Podolsk
Mohyliv-Podilskyy (Rus. Mogilev-Podolski) is a city in Eastern Ukraine, at the confluence of the Dniester and Derlo rivers. In the 17th century it became an important commercial point on the road from Ukraine to Turkey and was periodically ruled by the Ukrainian Cossacks, Poles, and Turks. It passed to Russia in 1795. Around the city there are archaeological remains dating from the 3d century BC.
